Celtic roots · World rhythms · Lush harmonies · A wild heart
Freyja Wild creates original music rooted in Celtic traditions, world rhythms, lush harmonies, and the sounds of the natural world. Classically trained yet joyfully genre-fluid, Freyja weaves haunting melodies, dynamic vocals, atmospheric textures, and evocative storytelling into music that can move from intimate and soul-tending to rhythmic, expansive, and wildly alive.
Freyja performs with guitarist Phil Van Scotter and upright bassist Pete Jacobs, often joined by flutists, percussionists, and other kindred spirits. Together they create an intimate yet expansive sound, moving easily between original music and unexpected interpretations of songs by artists including Steve Winwood, Annie Lennox, Rush, and Primal Scream.
Whether performed as a trio or expanded ensemble, the music is warm, adventurous, uplifting—and meant to leave a little more beauty in the room than it found.
