These songs await other musicians, collaborators, people with unbridled creativity, who can hear between the cracks and imagine wonderful things! I don’t think they really go on this first album.  Stylistically I think they are wrong.

They should all be heard as rough drafts, skeletons. I do all my rough drafts in Logic Pro X. I create midi drum tracks and bass lines so that I can create the feeling of the groove, and the piano is just chunking out chords so that I can hear the harmony. Currently on these recordings it’s all me.

I anticipate that these songs will change and grow as there are more musicians to add their creative input. They are all crying out for some beautiful guitar work, and actual human players!

I consider the music I write to be “evolutionary” and my intention is to promote positive change in the world.  My musical influences are Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Heart, Loreena McKennitt etc.

Let me know if you like what you hear…

Jasmine Green

A few years ago we took an amazing trip to Guatemala and Belize.  On that trip I made it my mission to connect with people and to spread the love around. This song is inspired by one particular interaction I had with a wide-eyed little girl I sat next to on a bus. This is just a clip of the whole song.

The Next Five Things

This song was inspired by a friend of mine named Steele, who calls himself “Earthman.” He dresses up in superhero garb and hangs out at the farmer’s market and on the mall talking up environmental issues.  I was hiking up Gregory Canyon one day thinking about writing a song in five.  When I came back down to the trail head he was there on his bike.  He showed me his special handshake and thanked me for the next five things I did for the earth.  Behold, a song in five.  In my mind, it sound a bit like Jethro Tull.  I couldn’t do much with the drums on this song because of all the meter changes. I had to use the drum program that comes with Logic rather than my other, more malleable drum software. I hear a lot more breaks and potential poly-rhythms.

Still working on the bridge/instrumental section of this one…
